On June 4–5, 2025, Chemspec Europe will transform Cologne, Germany, into the global innovation hub for the chemical industry. The 38th edition of the two-day event has become an important point of contact for sourcing fine and speciality chemicals, custom solutions and contract services. With an additional 8,000 square meters of exhibition space, visitors can explore the full range of chemical innovations and expertise presented by around 350 key suppliers from Europe and beyond. This year, the event has further refined its content structure to better align it with market needs, introducing clearer exhibitor segmentation, enhanced networking opportunities and new conference content.

Chemspec Europe showcases wide range of fine and speciality chemicals, additives and ingredients, as well as laboratory equipment and processing technology

The international fine and speciality chemicals industry is gearing up for its most important sourcing and networking event. Chemspec Europe brings together a wealth of knowledge and industry contacts under one roof, giving professionals instant access to key insights and updates to gain a competitive edge in a fast-paced sector. The upcoming 2025 edition will showcase a range of world-class chemical suppliers and service providers, including Albemarle, Arxada, CABB, Curia, ESIM Chemicals, Evonik, IMCD, Johnson Matthey, Lanxess, Midas Pharma, Miltitz Aromatics, PI Industries, Saltigo, SEQENS, SRF, WeylChem, to name just a few. In two large exhibition halls, visitors can explore a wide range of fine and specialty chemicals, additives and ingredients, as well as laboratory equipment, processing technology and specialized contract services. The exhibits cover the entire range of industries and applications, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, paints and coatings, personal care and cosmetics, construction, food and feed, water treatment, electronics, batteries and much more.

Creating opportunities in a progressive industry

Given the specialized yet diverse nature of the industry, finding the right supplier for complex chemical products is no easy task. “Whether you work in chemical production, R&D, procurement, distribution, or consulting, keeping up-to-date with evolving technologies, environmental considerations, and regulatory requirements is vital for navigating ever-changing markets and customer expectations,” says Christiane Beck, Event Director for Chemspec Europe at RX. ”Chemspec Europe offers a dynamic gateway to the latest innovations, research findings, and regulatory updates in the chemical sector. Above all, it fosters global collaboration, offering a space to connect with peers and experts, and to secure the right business partners to see your projects through."

Enhanced segmentation to match industry objectives

This year, Chemspec Europe has fundamentally revised its content structure and exhibitor segmentation. This is to improve the exhibition experience and achieve the greatest possible relevance for visitors. The exhibitor profiles have been adapted to the current needs of the industries and clearly categorized by sector, product group, key properties, substance class and company type. With a one-click filter, visitors can quickly identify relevant products for their specific application and thus get in touch with the right suppliers.

Enhanced conference programme: Sharper focus on visitor needs
The Chemspec Europe conference programme has been upgraded with a clearer structure and extended content. At last year's event, more than 50 expert-led sessions were offered on important industry developments, R&D projects and regulatory changes. Returning this year are the Agrochemical Stage, which focuses on agricultural policy and chemical solutions for modern, sustainable agriculture; the Pharmaceutical Stage, which highlights advances in personalized medicine, drug formulation and pharmaceutical innovation; and the Regulations Stage, which focuses on REACH and REACH-like regulations, global chemicals management and best practices for product stewardship. In addition, the new Insights Stage will address pressing industry challenges and provide practical solutions and strategic guidance to help companies meet evolving market demands. Full details of speakers and topics will be announced on the official show website.

"The New Exhibitor Zone" at Chemspec Europe

Chemspec Europe has a strong tradition of driving industry progress by showcasing emerging talent and innovation. "The New Exhibitor Zone" highlights first-time participants from Europe, the USA and Japan, including promising start-ups and young companies, that bring fresh perspectives and groundbreaking solutions to the exhibition floor. Strategically located in a high-traffic area, this dedicated area offers visitors exclusive access to new suppliers, groundbreaking technologies and clever innovations, thus expanding sourcing opportunities and promoting new industry contacts.

Building bridges with next-generation matchmaking

One of Chemspec Europe's greatest strengths is its focus on face-to-face meetings. Around 75 percent of last year's visitors successfully arranged business meetings at the show. This is supported by a powerful matchmaking programme that brings together visitors and suppliers with complementary business interests. The on-site Matchmaking Lounge allows PLUS ticket holders to meet key contacts and customers – including other visitors, in a comfortable and professional environment. A new feature is the Colleqt QR App, which facilitates the paperless exchange of important information and contact details, even when it is too busy at the stands for personal conversations. Visitors can collect and store company information and brochures digitally by simply scanning the Colleqt QR code at each stand. This makes follow-up meetings and exchanges with colleagues seamless.
