Hannover Messe 2024 shows solutions for climate-neutral industry

Lead theme of “Energizing a Sustainable Industry”

Hannover Messe 2024 will showcase solutions for a more sustainable industry

Expanding the own competitiveness, protecting the climate, driving prosperity: these are the major tasks currently facing industry. New technologies are the key to meeting these challenges. Hannover Messe 2024 provides answers to how companies can efficiently use automation, artificial intelligence, renewable energies and hydrogen. “Innovative technologies like those we see in April at Hannover Messe are paving the way to a climate-neutral, high-performance industry,” explains Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe. “However, companies need advice and guidance on how to make sensible use of automation, artificial intelligence, renewable energies and hydrogen. Furthermore, bureaucracy and a shortage of skilled workers are limiting growth potential,” he adds.

Hannover Messe 2024 provides the answers to these challenges under the lead theme of “Energizing a Sustainable Industry.” According to Köckler, “The secret lies in the interaction of technologies as well as cross-industry collaboration, embracing new technology and a clear political framework. We also must inspire the younger generation to strive for high-tech industrial jobs.”

Climate neutrality through electrification, digitalization and automation

At the globally important industrial trade fair, companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industries as well as the energy sector jointly present solutions for an equally powerful and sustainable industry. More than 4,000 companies act as an industrial ecosystem and show how climate neutrality can be achieved through electrification, digitalization and automation. Köckler adds: “The use of artificial intelligence in particular is leading to greater efficiency and product quality in industry.”

Exhibitors include global tech companies such as Accenture, Autodesk, Bosch, Capgemini, Dell Technologies, Google, Microsoft, Nokia, Palo Alto, Salzgitter, Service Now, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Siemens Energy or Uniper as well as medium-sized technology leaders such as Aerzener Maschinenfabrik, Beckhoff, Ericsson, Festo, Hans Turck, Harting, Hexagon, Ifm, Igus, Lapp, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact, Rittal, Sew-Eurodrive, Wago, Wibu or Ziehl-Abegg. Research institutes such as Fraunhofer or the Kit (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) outline the industrial solutions for tomorrow.

Hannover Messe focuses on CO2-neutral energy supply

Sustainable and emission-free energy supply is increasingly coming into focus. This includes the use of renewable energies as well as their storage, the implementation of a comprehensive energy management system and the integration into an intelligent power grid. With the increased use of volatile energy sources, green hydrogen has gained in importance. At the upcoming Hannover Messe, around 500 exhibitors from the hydrogen and fuel cell industry will present their solutions for an emission-free economy.

Production and energy supply of the future

Hannover Messe is the world's leading trade fair for industry. It brings together exhibiting companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industries as well as the energy sector to present solutions for the production and energy supply of the future. Top topics include Industry 4.0, Manufacturing-X, Energy for Industry, Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, CO2-neutral Production, and Hydrogen and Fuel Cells. Conferences and forums complement the program. The next edition will be hosted in Hannover from April 22 to 26, 2024.
