In October 2025, measurement technology specialist Vega Grieshaber officially opened its new electronics production facility in Mason, near Cincinnati. The new building adds around 11,000 square meters of space, doubling the site’s previous production area. The investment enables the company to manufacture electronic components directly in the United States. This enhances responsiveness to regional market needs, reduces dependence on global logistics, and strengthens the local supply chain. The company’s main production site in Schiltach, Germany, remains in operation.
Vega focuses on sustainable production
The design and construction of the new facility emphasized energy efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly materials. Sourcing from local suppliers and eliminating long transport routes contribute to a more sustainable value chain. According to Isabel Grieshaber, Managing Partner at Vega, the expansion in Mason reflects the company’s strategy of investing in customer proximity in North America. This approach, she noted, allows Vega to act more quickly, use resources more efficiently and apply its innovative capabilities more purposefully on a global scale.
Cross-continental collaboration
Initial production runs have already begun. The official launch was celebrated together with employees from both the US and Germany, as well as representatives from local government and economic development agencies. The project’s success was made possible by close cooperation across continents. In addition to technical coordination, cultural exchange also played a key role. Vega supported this with intercultural training and language courses.
New facility strengthens global strategy of Vega
With this new production site, Vega is continuing to pursue its international growth strategy. The Mason facility is set to become a key part of the company’s global manufacturing network. To ensure a smooth transition to full-scale operations, technical experts from Schiltach will remain on site through the end of the year.
