At Chinaplas 2026, Wittmann will present for the first time an injection molding machine produced at its own plant in Kunshan. The all-electric “EcoPrimus” thus marks a strategic step toward strengthening local manufacturing capacities in China. The injection molding machine, with a clamping force of 1,000 kilonewtons, was developed for high-volume single-component compact injection molding. The system combines precision, energy efficiency, and a compact design. Equipped with the “Unilog B8X” machine control system, it meets current requirements for ease of use and process control. At the trade fair, an “EcoPrimus 100/350” will demonstrate the production of functional key rings made of polystyrene. The expanded production plant in Kunshan was inaugurated in December. In addition to robots and peripheral devices, injection molding machines are now also manufactured there. Development capacities are also being expanded in order to implement regional requirements more quickly.
Fully electric injection molding machine “for LSR applications
Another exhibit at the trade fair is the all-electric injection molding machine “EcoPower 110/210.” It produces sealing rings from liquid silicone in a 16-cavity mold with a shot weight of 1.7 grams. LSR applications are becoming increasingly important, particularly in medical technology and electromobility. The “EcoPower” enables high injection speeds and precise control. Servo direct drives and the use of braking energy reduce energy consumption. Wittmann offers specially developed injection units and LSR-specific options for processing liquid silicone.
Micro injection molding machine for miniature parts
With the “MicroPower 15/10,” Wittmann is presenting an injection molding machine for the production of small and micro parts. The machine concept requires only two square meters of floor space. The special design minimizes the mass cushion and significantly reduces the sprue. At Chinaplas, the “MicroPower 15/10” will be producing vein clamps made of POM with a single weight of 0.003 grams in a four-cavity mold. An integrated vertical Scara robot will handle the removal. Quality inspection will be performed by camera within a closed work cell. A laminar flow box enables production under Class 7 clean room conditions in accordance with ISO 14644-1.
Automation and peripherals for injection molding technology
In the field of automation, the new “Primus 118” linear robot expands the portfolio for injection molding machines with clamping forces of up to 250 tons. The maximum load capacity increases from five to up to eight kilograms. Reinforced axes and drives enable higher performance. The “R9” control system has an OPC UA interface as standard for connection to higher-level systems.
In the peripherals sector, Wittmann is showcasing the “Tempro basic 120” temperature control unit, among other things. The size is designed for applications up to 120 degrees Celsius and is aimed at larger consumers. A self-optimizing microprocessor control system operates with an accuracy of ± one degree Celsius. A 3.5-inch TFT color display replaces the previous seven-segment display. For in-house recycling, Wittmann is presenting the “G-Max XL” cutting mill. It is designed for throughputs of up to 100 kilograms per hour. The optimized rotor ensures homogeneous regrind with reduced cutting repetition.
Integrated solutions for injection molding machines
With local production in Kunshan, Wittmann is strengthening its position as a provider of integrated system solutions for plastics processing. The portfolio ranges from injection molding machines to automation and material handling to temperature control and recycling. Chinaplas 2026 will take place in Shanghai from April 21 to 24.
