The French Eram Group is relying on Dematic technology for its new logistics center. An "AutoStore" system featuring 84 robots and integrated control software is designed to centralize and automate processes. The group, known for brands such as Gémo, Eram, Bocage, and Mellow Yellow, is consolidating its logistics operations at a new distribution center located in Chemillé-en-Anjou, western France. The warehouse, covering more than 40,000 square meters, will be equipped with an "AutoStore" system. Its compact design allows for high storage density while occupying a small footprint and can be expanded modularly as needed.

Dematic automates processes from goods receipt to shipping

The "AutoStore" system includes 80,000 bins, 84 robots, and 16 workstations. This automated solution covers all steps from goods receipt through picking to sorting and palletizing. Additional elements include conveyor belts with automatic unloading units for trucks and containers, as well as a package sorting system. A packing station forwards completed orders directly to the shipping area.

Dematic software controls all processes

The entire system is managed by Dematic’s Warehouse Control Software (WCS). It coordinates all picking and fulfillment processes and can be seamlessly integrated into Eram Group’s existing IT infrastructure. This enables a fully digital control of material flows.

Confidence in Dematic’s expertise

Jean-Louis Borde, head of logistics operations at the Eram Group, stated that Dematic had demonstrated its extensive expertise in implementing AutoStore systems and convincingly showed the synergies resulting from collaboration with other brands within the parent company Kion Group.

Alain Bussod, President of Dematic France, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration, saying that Dematic was pleased to be working with the Eram Group, a distinguished French family business and iconic brand. He noted that the project represented the beginning of a promising partnership based on shared values and a common vision of quality and innovation.

Implementation underway: Commissioning scheduled for 2026

The project is already underway. Completion and commissioning of the new Dematic system are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. The aim is to handle both B2B and B2C processes efficiently and centrally at the new distribution center.
