Sanofi has commissioned DHL Supply Chain to operate its vaccine distribution center in Val-de-Reuil, France. The logistics service provider will take on key tasks such as warehousing, inventory management, order picking, packaging, and order processing. This collaboration will enable Sanofi to strengthen the performance of its pharmaceutical product supply chains.

Sanofi relies on specialized pharmaceutical logistics

The Val-de-Reuil site plays an important role in Sanofi's global vaccine supply. By handing over its logistics processes to DHL Supply Chain, the pharmaceutical group is consolidating its distribution activities with a partner that has proven experience in regulated healthcare environments. The services are provided in compliance with applicable GxP requirements and also include temperature-controlled logistics processes.

Expansion of healthcare activities in France

For DHL Supply Chain, the takeover of the site is a further step in the expansion of its life sciences and pharmaceutical activities in France. The logistics service provider has been investing specifically in cold chain expertise, digital logistics technologies and resilient distribution networks for several years. France plays a strategic role within the international healthcare network.

Long-standing cooperation between Sanofi and DHL

The agreement in Val-de-Reuil expands the existing European and global cooperation between Sanofi and DHL. Rainer Haag, Regional CEO of DHL Supply Chain Europe, considers this an important step forward. Combining DHL's global reach with its healthcare expertise will strengthen the efficiency and resilience of supply chains. The clear focus is on patient care.

Sanofi also emphasizes the importance of the partnership for a reliable supply of medicines. Vanessa Clemendot, Global Head of Supply Chain at Sanofi, explains that this model builds on the experience and commitment of the teams in Val-de-Reuil. This ensures that medicines reach patients quickly and safely worldwide.

Strategic investments in global pharmaceutical logistics

DHL Supply Chain is further expanding its global healthcare activities as part of the “DHL Health Logistics” initiative. The strategy is supported by investments of two billion euros. The goal is to provide integrated logistics solutions that meet the growing demands of pharmaceutical companies such as Sanofi, from site modernization to seamless system integration.

Sanofi strengthens resilient supply chains

By outsourcing its warehousing and distribution processes, Sanofi continues to rely on a logistics partner with extensive experience in regulatory compliance and complex integration projects. The collaboration is intended to help increase supply security and ensure the long-term performance of global supply chains.
