The next Hannover Messe will be held from April 5 to 8, 2027. The organizer, Deutsche Messe, has thus condensed the event to four days. At the upcoming world-leading trade fair, international companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical, and digital industries, as well as the energy sector, will present solutions for resource-efficient, climate-neutral, and resilient production. In parallel, Europe Energy Week will provide an additional platform for topics related to energy and infrastructure.
Spain as partner country at Hannover Messe 2027
Spain will be in the spotlight as the partner country of Hannover Messe 2027. Jordi García Brustenga, State Secretary for Industry at the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, emphasizes: “Spain and Germany share a strong industrial relationship based on trust and a shared vision for Europe’s economic future.” Spain’s participation as Partner Country at Hannover Messe 2027 reflects the strength of our economic fabric as well as our commitment to a more sustainable, technologically advanced, digital, and competitive industry. It is an honor for Spain to strengthen this strategic partnership and to jointly drive industrial growth in Europe forward.”
Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe, adds: “Spain is the ideal partner country for Hannover Messe 2027, not only because of its leading role in future technologies such as electromobility and green hydrogen, but also due to its consistent course toward a digital and sustainable industry. In times of global upheaval, close cooperation with Spain is gaining strategic importance. This combination makes Spain a key partner for Germany, Europe, and the global community on the path to a sustainable, digitized, and competitive industry.”
A look back at the 2026 trade fair: International participation and high relevance
Hannover Messe 2026 demonstrated how industrial companies are responding to current challenges and putting technological solutions into practice. The focus was on developments in the areas of artificial intelligence, automation, and digitalization. These technologies help make production processes more efficient and ensure competitiveness. Despite difficult conditions, it is clear that industrial transformation is no longer merely a topic of conceptual discussion but is increasingly being put into practice.
Despite international travel restrictions, the Hannover Messe recorded high attendance with approximately 110,000 visitors. While attendance was below the previous year’s level of 123,000 participants, this was due, among other things, to travel restrictions. At the same time, the trade fair continues to demonstrate significant international importance. Approximately 40 percent of the guests traveled from abroad, particularly from China, Brazil, the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. Read the full final report here.
