Safety and security in the spotlight

Steffen Winkler, CSO of the Automation division at Bosch Rexroth and chairman of the SPS exhibitor advisory board, sums it up: "SPS is the summit meeting for automation specialists. Here, visitors can experience the latest technologies and meet the experts in person, enabling them to establish and develop valuable industry contacts. Even in difficult economic times, SPS remains a strong venue for innovation and discussion. Here, we shape the future together."

Intensive technical discussions on new products and current market launches, as well as outlooks on the automation and digitalization of industry, characterized the trade fair. In many cases, the focus of new developments was on security, especially cyber security. Companies were responding to the EU's recently passed Cyber Resilience Act. With a transition period of 36 months, manufacturers must improve the cyber security of products that can be connected to each other or to the internet.
