
With around 47,500 visitors from over 90 countries and around 800 exhibitors from 40 nations, Automatica 2025 achieved new record figures. Over 1,100 robots were presented in six exhibition halls, ranging from large robots to cobots, AGVs, and humanoids. The focus was on forward-looking topics such as AI-supported robotics, automation for small and medium-sized businesses. Additionally, on health tech solutions, mobile robotics and networked production.
Driving force for the industry
A successful range of topics according to Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Co-CEO of Messe München. “automatica once again inspired the entire industry. The trade fair has seen significant growth in terms of both visitors and exhibitor participation, despite adverse economic conditions. That underlines its status as a must-attend in the industry.”
Exhibition Director Anja Schneider is delighted as well: “800 exhibitors and a whopping 1,120 robots made automatica an incredibly impressive crowd-puller covering the entire value chain. And I am particularly pleased with its pronounced employment fair character.”

International exhibitors with a strong presence at Automatica
Almost 35 percent of visitors came from abroad. The top ten countries after Germany were Austria, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, China, Poland, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, the USA, and France. 99 percent of those surveyed rated the trade fair as “excellent” to “good.” In addition, 95 percent of visitors praised the presence of market leaders. 95 percent confirmed Automatica's status as a leading trade fair and described the atmosphere at the fair as good to very good.
“This year, we have seen remarkable interest from customers who have not automated yet. Thus, automatica 2025 was the perfect stage for us to demonstrate that ‘making automation easier’ goes well beyond providing easy and intuitive access to robotics. It describes our attitude toward our customers: Every contact, every product, and every service should make their work noticeably easier - and open up new areas of application," explains Reinhold Groß, CEO of Kuka's robotics division.

Advancing the future of automation
Takayuki Ito, President of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), adds: “Automatica is one of the most important events not only for Fanuc but also for the entire European robotics industry.”
Maik Ahlers, Market Product Manager Robotic Solutions at Sick, sums up: "Once again this year, nothing beat personal customer contact at Automatica in Munich. The well-organized exhibitor format provided the ideal platform for presenting our sensor solutions and innovations to a wide audience of experts throughout the week. There was a particular focus on our safe robotics exhibits and solutions such as the end-of-arm safeguard and our safety laser scanners."

Automatica impresses with high satisfaction among exhibitors and visitors
According to a survey conducted by the Gelszus Institute, 94 percent of exhibitors rated the trade fair as excellent or good. 88 percent praised the quality of the visitors, and 87 percent praised the increased proportion of new customers. Frank Konrad, CEO of Hahn Automation, sums it up: “Automatica 2025 was yet another indicator of just how crucial smart automation and robotics are for the industry’s future. Agility, an open mind with regard to new technology. And constructive regional economic policy are pivotal factors in securing Europe’s role as an automation powerhouse. We experienced great inspiration in Munich and have a clear take-away from the week we spent here: The future is automated and we are prepared to shape it together with our customers.”
