Despite a challenging market environment, Krones continued its profitable growth course in the third quarter of 2025. The company benefited from robust investment activity in its target sectors of the beverage and food industries. Efficiency gains in production and consistent cost control were the main factors supporting this positive development.
Krones orders received rise noticeably
Orders received developed very positively from July to September 2025. At €1,374.3 million, they were 6.2 percent higher than in the second quarter and 3.9 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year. Over the first nine months, orders reached €4,104.7 million, almost matching the high level of the previous year. As of September 30, 2025, the order backlog amounted to €4,286.8 million, ensuring capacity utilization well into the coming year.
Sales growth on target
Sales in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 4.7 percent year-on-year to €1,380.9 million. In the first nine months, revenues totaled €4,107.4 million, an increase of six percent. This means that Krones is performing in line with its own expectations. In terms of currency, the weaker US dollar against the euro had a slightly negative effect. The ratio of order intake to sales was balanced at 1.00.
Krones significantly increases earnings
In the third quarter, the company benefited from increased productivity and improved cost structures. Despite additional expenses in the high single-digit million range for its trade fair appearance at Drinktec, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose disproportionately to €142.2 million, up from €134.9 million in the same period last year.
Solid development in the first nine months
The profitable growth course was confirmed over the first three quarters. Sales rose by six percent compared with the same period last year to €4,107.4 million. EBT totaled €302.3 million. This represents an increase of 9.7 percent. All in all, Krones achieved a consolidated net income of €213.7 million from January to September 2025, which corresponds to an increase of 6.5 percent.
Krones confirms financial targets for the full year
Despite global uncertainties, the company remains confident. The development of the first nine months of 2025 confirms this assessment. Trade conflicts, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain problems are influencing the general conditions. However, Krones considers itself well positioned due to its stable market position and high demand.
For 2025 as a whole, the Executive Board expects sales growth of between seven and nine percent. This is based on stable orders, a disciplined pricing strategy, and the consistent implementation of ongoing efficiency and cost programs. The goal remains to further increase profitability compared to 2024.
