Packaging and process technology specialist Krones continues to expand its market position. Two recent acquisitions strengthen the portfolio in both process technology and filling and packaging technology. The focus is on technologies for solid-liquid separation and the handling of can components, both areas of strategic relevance for future growth.
Krones strengthens process technology through stake in GHS Separationstechnik
In July 2025, Krones acquired a 60 percent majority stake in GHS Separationstechnik, based in Landshut. The company develops and manufactures decanter centrifuges, which are used in the processing of vegetable oils, fruit juices, alternative foods, and PET recycling, among other things. With this investment, Krones secures expertise in a segment that plays a key role in many sustainability-oriented processes.
GHS Separationstechnik achieves eight-figure annual sales
GHS employs around 25 people. In the 2024 financial year, the company generated sales of around €10 million. The integration of centrifuge technology into the existing portfolio expands the range of applications in process technology and at the same time strengthens Krones' position in the field of resource-saving processes.
Krones invests in can technology with acquisition of CSW
On September 16, 2025, Krones acquired 100 percent of the shares in Dutch machine manufacturer Can Systems Worldwide (CSW). Based in Deventer, the Netherlands, the company specializes in special machines for handling can lids and supplies customers in the beverage, beer, and food industries worldwide. The aim is to specifically expand expertise in the field of can filling.
CSW employs around 35 people. Last year, its sale was around €20 million. The company will continue to operate as an independent entity, serving customers with existing products and services.
