For anyone looking to gain a foothold in Asia, Shanghai World of Packaging (Swop) is an indispensable port of call. It’s the meeting place for those looking to break into one of the world's most exciting areas of economic activity. Swop will offer first-class conditions for market entry, business and targeted exchange, as central hub of the Asian packaging industry. The international processing and packaging industry will gather at Swop. This event is organised by Interpack Alliance at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 25 to 27 November 2025. More than 950 exhibitors and over 40,000 trade visitors from more than 100 countries are expected. The event offer ideal conditions for direct dialogue with decision-makers from key industries such as food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Added to this are consumer goods and securing a position in the dynamic economic region in and around China.

Vital importance for business relationships in China

Not only does the fair provide an overview of the industry's entire supply chain. It also brings together current trends, technological developments and market segments under one roof. As member of the Interpack Alliance, Swop benefits from the international reach and excellent industry representation of the global network. "Person-to-person contact is of vital importance for business relationships in China. If you’re not doing business locally, you can’t do business here at all. We are happy to report that Swop is developing into a ‘must-attend’ event in the Chinese processing & packaging market more and more each year,” emphasises Thomas Dohse, Director of Interpack. And the feedback from last year shows that the concept is working: 98 percent of exhibitors and 95 percent of visitors said they were completely satisfied with their participation in 2024.

Meeting place for international packaging exhibitors

A special added value for international exhibitors is the "International Pavilion" - an all-inclusive offer from the Interpack Alliance that combines the best possible trade fair presence with high visibility. What's more, exhibitors in the Pavilion benefit from targeted visitor routes that lead key buyers directly to their stands. This provides the ideal basis for generating qualified leads and developing new markets.

Koch Pac-Systeme is one example of those who will be present: “We’re looking forward to taking part at swop in Shanghai again in 2025! At the trade fair, we’ll be presenting our comprehensive solutions: from standard machine designs via modular machines to tailored solutions. And pride of place always goes to the comprehensive consulting services provided by our Packaging Competence Center”,  explains Darren Ding, Sales Manager China at Koch Pac-Systeme.

Programme highlights and special zones at Shanghai World of Packaging

With a diverse supporting programme, Swop 2025 once again provides a strong impetus for the further development of the packaging industry in China. The focus will be on current market trends, technological innovations and international industry dialogue. In addition to established formats such as the "Smart Packaging Zone" and the "Green Power Zone", the upgraded "FMCG Infinity Zone" will focus on creating an integrated packaging supply chain ecosystem for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands and inspiring creativity in packaging design. It will feature a wide range of exhibits - from packaging products and materials to comprehensive solutions and supply chain services.

Joint project Save Food Forum returns

Also returning is the Save Food Forum, a joint project of Interpack, Messe Düsseldorf, FAO China, Unido and the World Packaging Organization (WPO). The forum will focus on the role of packaging in the fight against food loss and waste. Another highlight this year is the Women in Packaging Forum. It recognises the contribution of women in a changing industry, creates visibility and promotes international dialogue on equality, leadership and diversity in the packaging industry.
