Zebra Technologies has teamed up with Clearview Imaging to open the Industrial Automation Center of Excellence. The new center of excellence is located in Oxfordshire, UK, and is aimed at companies in the manufacturing and logistics industries, as well as industrial image processing professionals throughout the EMEA region.
Zebra Technologies supports machine building and system integration
The center offers hands-on demonstrations, training, customized consulting, and technical services. The goal is to help end users, machine builders, and system integrators select and implement vision solutions, 3D technologies, and AI applications.
Technological change calls for new approaches
“Automotive, electric battery, electronics and semiconductor manufacturers and logistics organisations face new quality, compliance and safety challenges, requiring frontline engineers, machine builders and systems integrators to think and act in new ways,” says Donato Montanari, Vice President and General Manager, Machine Vision, Zebra Technologies.
Zebra Technologies relies on networks for technology integration
“They need a professional network that can show how technologies like AI and 3D can be used together to achieve goals and prepare for future growth”, he adds.
Study confirms digital catch-up in manufacturing
According to Zebra's latest Manufacturing Vision Study, 54 percent of European manufacturers expect artificial intelligence to be a key growth driver by 2029. At the same time, 84 percent say they are struggling to keep pace with rapid technological developments. Key challenges in quality management include real-time transparency, compliance with new regulatory requirements, integration of distributed data sources, and traceability of processes and products.
Training in image processing is gaining importance
The training and continuing education formats offered at the center cover both the basics of industrial image processing and advanced, application- and industry-specific scenarios. This is particularly relevant as 71 percent of executives in the manufacturing industry plan to train their employees to strengthen their data and technology skills.
Proof-of-concepts with independent evaluation by Zebra Technologies
Thanks to its application-oriented concept, the center enables Zebra customers and their image processing experts to contribute their own proof-of-concepts. These are independently reviewed, including a detailed feasibility assessment and specific recommendations for action.
Platform for exchange and technological advancement
In addition, the Industrial Automation Center is intended to be a place for networking and knowledge exchange. It brings together technological expertise, thought leadership, and relevant events with the goal of connecting people who want to advance industrial image processing together.
Clearview intends to simplify access to image processing
“This is an important step forward for the machine vision industry and the customers we support, bridging the gap between the technology and user knowledge, and helping to create the best solutions available,” said Allan Anderson, Managing Director and Founder, Clearview, which has offices in England, France, Spain, and Germany. “We are on a mission to democratise machine vision, and with our team of certified machine vision professionals, training courses, engineering services and state-of-the-art HQ and centre of excellence, we can help customers create great vision systems.”
