Siemens and Snowflake are deepening their collaboration to drive IT/OT convergence in industry. The goal is to open up new opportunities for manufacturers worldwide to increase efficiency, scalability, and AI-powered insights. The focus is on linking operational technology (OT) data with information technology (IT) data via the Siemens Industrial Edge and the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.
IT/OT convergence with Industrial Edge and AI Data Cloud
The integration gives customers access to plug-and-play Industrial Edge applications. OT data can be contextualized directly on the shop floor and transferred to IT systems. This creates a consistent database for deeper insights, higher plant availability, and optimized production processes.
Bringing the OT and IT worlds together directly on the shop floor

Practical example: FFT relies on IT/OT convergence
FFT, a provider of complex manufacturing systems, uses Siemens Industrial Edge and the Snowflake AI Data Cloud to transfer production data securely and efficiently. With the “DataBridge” app, OT data from PLCs, sensors, and other manufacturing systems is integrated directly into the cloud. FFT is already using the solution in its own facilities, meeting high requirements for scalability and efficiency. The partnership strengthens FFT both as an integrator and Snowflake partner and as a member of the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem.
Added value through edge and cloud integration
The joint solution is aimed at production managers, data engineers, and IT managers. It overcomes data silos, improves transparency, and enables AI-supported analysis in real time. OT data models, including AI applications, run in a closed loop with production automation. Snowflake then delivers actionable insights for quality improvements, performance optimization, and predictive maintenance.
