Miniature ballscrews demonstrate their advantages wherever compact design and maximum precision are required. At Emo 2025, Hiwin is presenting a new series of these drive elements, which have been specially developed for applications with very limited installation space. The series enables low-friction and repeatable linear movements without compromising on load capacity or efficiency. The range of applications extends from medical technology and semiconductor manufacturing to micro-assembly systems.

How miniature ballscrews work

The design of miniature ballscrews is based on the principle of ball screws. Balls between the spindle and nut efficiently convert rotary motion into linear motion. An integrated ball return system ensures consistently uniform force transmission and enables high positioning accuracy. The new series has been designed for easy integration into existing systems. This proves to be an advantage, especially in retrofit projects and compact machine layouts.

Areas of application and integration of miniature ballscrews

Thanks to their small dimensions, miniature ballscrews are particularly suitable for use in highly compact machines where every millimeter counts. They can be seamlessly integrated into existing axis systems and offer a high degree of efficiency and reliability.

New heavy-duty roller guide for high loads

At the same time, Hiwin is launching the new “UR” heavy-duty roller guide. It offers up to 34 percent more static and up to 19 percent more dynamic load capacity compared to the previous model. This enables a service life that is up to 70 percent longer. The “UR” series is designed for high-precision axis movements under maximum load and features customized sealing systems that provide reliable protection even in heavily contaminated environments.

Improved lubrication and modular design

An improved lubrication channel ensures that the rolling elements are effectively supplied with lubricant, even with wall mounting and oil lubrication. The new roller guide will be available from early 2026 in sizes 35, 45, and 55, in flat, high, and flange designs, as heavy-duty or super-heavy-duty variants. Extensive accessories such as sheet metal scrapers, cover tape, or position measuring systems support application-specific adaptation.

Bottom line: Precision and performance for modern machine designs

With both new products, Hiwin addresses key requirements of modern machine designs: high precision in a small space and high load capacity combined with a long service life.
