Siemens and Servicenow want to improve industrial cybersecurity. That is why the two companies announced a new collaboration at the Servicenow World Forum in Munich. As part of the collaboration, they want to advance the integration of generative AI into production. To do this, Siemens' Sinec Security Guard, which improves cybersecurity in production, and Siemens Industrial Copilot, for generative AI-supported automation, are to be combined with Servicenow's workflow automation. This will make it possible to simplify and improve processes in factories.

Market for industrial cybersecurity will grow to around $21.6 billion by 2028

According to a recent study, the industrial cybersecurity market is expected to reach $21.6 billion by 2028. This is due to the growing threat to operational technology (OT) systems and the increasing need for efficient vulnerability management. According to the forecast, the application of generative AI in industrial environments will increase exponentially. This is because companies are increasingly striving for operational efficiency and improved collaboration between humans and machines.

Cathy Mauzaize, President EMEA at Servicenow, says: “Our collaboration with Siemens represents a pivotal step in enhancing operational technology security and harnessing the power of generative AI on the shopfloor. With Siemens’ market-leading expertise in industrial automation and the Servicenow platform’s ability to orchestrate and automate workflows, we are enabling our joint customers to respond to vulnerabilities and streamline operations with speed and intelligence.”

Collaboration promotes security in production via Siemens Xcelerator

Rainer Brehm, CEO Factory Automation at Siemens, adds: “Combining the strength of Siemens Xcelerator, including Sinec Security Guard and the Siemens Industrial Copilot, with Servicenow’s automation capabilities will help our customers make faster, smarter decisions. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in securing OT environments and bringing cutting-edge AI technology directly to the factory floor.”

Safety and efficiency in factories with AI-driven automation

Servicenow's Operational Technology Service Management (OTSM) suite plays a key role in this collaboration. By integrating IT and OT workflows, OTSM helps organisations manage and secure their operational technology environments. In addition, OTSM provides real-time visibility and automates processes across the entire shop floor. Sinec Security Guard further enhances Servicenow's OT Vulnerability Response (OT VR). This gives the user more insight into the vulnerabilities of OT devices. Security threats can be detected and resolved more quickly.

Siemens Industrial Copilot is based on generative AI

The Industrial Copilot is based on generative AI to sustainably improve collaboration between humans and machines in production. Companies that use the Now Platform to map their workflows achieve greater transparency with the Operations Copilot. Operational processes can be better controlled because static and dynamic machine data provide transparency and control. The Operations Copilot supports production employees with detailed instructions and recommendations in natural language. Servicenow automates workflows from maintenance planning to real-time problem solving. This helps to implement AI-driven insights into concrete and efficient measures. These ultimately improve productivity and minimise downtime.

Together, Siemens and Servicenow enable the direct integration of AI-driven results from Siemens Industrial Copilot into Servicenow workflows. Factories are supported in optimising their cyber security. In addition, operational efficiency is increased and modern AI applications are integrated into manufacturing processes.
