With its new key theme “Navigate Complexity. Smart. Safe. Sustainable.”, Anuga Foodtec 2027 will focus on technological solutions for the complex challenges facing the food and beverage industry. The international trade fair will take place in Cologne from February 23 to 26, 2027, and serves as a global platform for innovation and technology in the industry.

Anuga Foodtec aims to master complexity and accelerate innovation

The trade fair will focus on how companies in food production can deal with increasing complexity. Influencing factors include global commodity flows, changing consumer behavior, climate protection requirements, and increasing cost pressure coupled with demands for quality, safety, and efficiency. The main theme stands for solutions that combine efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility. The focus is on networked, automated, digital, and resource-efficient processes. "With its key theme of 'Navigate Complexity. Smart. Safe. Sustainable.', Anuga FoodTec 2027 points out possibilities for how data-supported control, secure networking and resource-efficient processes can make complexity in production manageable," emphasizes Roland Thiemann, Director of Anuga Foodtec.

Technical program to support the Anuga Foodtec theme

The accompanying technical program is being developed in close cooperation with the German Agricultural Society (DLG). As a technical partner and conceptual sponsor, the DLG is developing the technical program for the key theme and bringing together experts from science, industry, politics, and practice. The aim is to offer trade visitors well-founded analyses, concrete recommendations for action, and practical solutions for how technological innovations can be strategically integrated into complex processes.

The main theme of Anuga Foodtec 2027 is divided into three central areas of action:

• Smart: AI-supported, automated, and digital systems promote transparency, flexibility, and efficiency, from raw material procurement and intralogistics to data-based decisions.
• Safe: Process and cyber security, hygiene controls, monitoring, and complete traceability ensure quality standards and reduce risks along the value chain.
• Sustainable: Resource optimization, energy efficiency, and circular production concepts anchor sustainability as an integral part of modern processes.

As a global industry meeting place, the trade fair connects experts from industry, science, and politics. The trade fair offers orientation in a dynamic environment and brings together the international Foodtec network to present strategies, innovations, and practical solutions along the entire value chain.
