Despite the difficult overall economic conditions, Krones once again increased its revenue and profitability in the past financial year 2024. In the future, the plant manufacturer intends to continue its profitable growth course. Krones' revenue exceeded the five billion euro mark for the first time in 2024, rising by 12.1 percent year-on-year from €4.7 billion to around €5.3 billion. The propensity to invest among clients in the international beverage industry, which is less affected by economic fluctuations, remains robust. In 2024, order intake rose by 1.6 percent to €5.46 billion, up from the previous year's high figure of €5.38 billion. At the end of 2024, the company had orders worth €4.29 billion on its books. This means that the order backlog increased by more than four percent compared to the previous year.

Krones generated 23 percent more profit in 2024

All of Krones' key earnings figures improved significantly in 2024 compared to the previous year. Good capacity utilization, intelligent production and procurement management, ongoing measures to reduce costs and increase efficiency, and stable prices all contributed to this. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose by 17.5 percent from €457.3 million to €537.1 million. Operating profit rose by 22.9 percent from €310.5 million in the previous year to €381.6 million. Krones improved its consolidated profit by 23.4 percent to €277.2 million.

Krones sets itself net-zero emissions target for 2040

The company has set itself the goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions along the entire value chain to net-zero by 2024. Krones has defined interim targets for implementing its net-zero strategy up to 2030. By 2030, the company aims to reduce its company-related greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1 and 2 by 80 percent compared to 2019. Emissions from Krones' upstream and downstream value chain in Scope 3 are to be reduced by 30 percent. By fiscal 2024, the company aims to achieve a 52 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and an 18 percent reduction in Scope 3 emissions from products sold. Krones is also on track to achieve its interim targets for other key sustainability indicators by 2030.

Executive Board forecasts profitable growth for 2025 as well

In view of the difficult overall global economic situation, Krones is entering the 2025 financial year with realistic optimism. The high order backlog will ensure that production capacity is fully utilized until early 2026. Robust demand for Krones' products and services also supports this assessment. In view of the current macroeconomic outlook and the currently expected development of the markets relevant to Krones, the company expects consolidated revenue to grow by seven to nine percent in 2025. Based on rising revenue, a continued disciplined pricing strategy and the ongoing implementation of efficiency and cost optimization measures, the company plans to improve its profitability again in the current year compared to 2024.
