Krones reports a successful first quarter of 2025. Thanks to its internationally balanced customer structure, the company is able to offset fluctuations in demand in individual regions. At €1.44 billion, order intake in Q1 2025 was almost seven percent higher than the order volume in Q4 2024. Compared to the strong previous year, the order value in first three months of 2025 fell slightly by three percent. Krones' order backlog increased slightly between January and March 2025 compared to the end of 2024 due to high demand. At March 31, 2025, the company had orders with a total value of just under €4.32 billion on its books. The very high order backlog will ensure production capacity utilization until the beginning of the second quarter of 2026.

Krones increases sales by 13 percent in the first quarter

Krones improved its revenue in the first quarter by 13 percent from €1.25 billion in the previous year to €1.41 billion. Part of the increase in revenue is attributable to the Netstal machines acquired in 2024, whose revenue Krones has consolidated since March 28, 2024. However, even without this effect, revenue growth from January to March was within the forecast corridor for the full year 2025.

Double-digit growth in operating result and profit

Due to the stable availability of materials, Krones' production capacities were efficiently utilized in the first three months of 2025. This had a positive impact on profitability, as did the implementation of strategic measures to improve the company's performance and cost structures. In the first quarter of 2025, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose by 19 percent year-on-year from €125 million to over €149 million. Earnings before taxes increased by 21 percent from €89 million to €108 million in the first quarter of 2025. In the period from January to March, the Group result improved by 15 percent from around €66 million in the previous year to €76 million.

Krones expects continuation of its profitable growth path

The plant engineering company has made a good start to the 2025 financial year and has a high order backlog. At the same time, the business environment remains challenging due to intensifying wage disputes and geopolitical risks in Europe, the Middle East and other regions of the world. Material bottlenecks and problems in global supply chains as a result of trade conflicts and military action remain a further source of uncertainty.

Financial targets for the 2025 financial year confirmed

In summary, the company confirms its financial targets for the full year 2025 based on the currently expected development of the markets relevant to Krones following the positive first quarter. The Executive Board expects revenue growth of seven to nine percent for the Group. Based on rising revenue, a continued disciplined pricing strategy and the ongoing implementation of efficiency and cost optimization measures, Krones plans to further improve its profitability in the current year compared to 2024.
