This was the wish expressed by Höfelmeyer system consultants and customers alike. The advantages are obvious: flexibility and clarity with a wide range of information at the same time. With the new digital Höfelmeyer Technical Centre, all interested parties can get close to the technology no matter where they are. While traditional brochures and illustrations show the products ‘on the flat’ as it were, Höfelmeyer’s virtual showroom creates a ‘product cosmos’. Here, the system solutions can be experienced interactively. Visitors not only get an overview of the product range, but also lots of detailed information about the individual systems. Höfelmeyer’s virtual technical centre is therefore an ideal alternative to an on-site visit to Georgsmarienhütte, Germany - especially in these times of contact restrictions.
The spectrum presented ranges from basic weighing systems to customised solutions. The Höfelmeyer process station, hygienic scales, drive-through scales, mobile scales, continuous scales and combination system as well as graders, dynamic labellers, X-ray scanners and IBC weighing systems can be experienced directly. You can also get an insight into the remote service ‘Direct VIEW S’. Based on Augmented Reality, this remote maintenance service helps to increase the availability and productivity of metrological systems. The user can jump to particular positions in the virtual space with a click and view the machinery and systems placed there in detail. Additional information such as videos, 360-degree views, brochures etc. can be called up directly. In order to further increase the additional benefit for interested parties, this interactive product cosmos is to be continuously expanded: additional systems, project information as well as interviews and tutorials are some examples of this.
This digital experience was realised by ‘Die Etagen GmbH’, located in Osnabrück and Hamburg. Based on the combination of several technologies - including Web GL - a browser-based application has been created. The focus was on absolute user-friendliness: navigation through the space is intuitive and desired information can be easily accessed. It isn’t necessary for the visitor to set up programs and add-ons. Interested parties are welcome to explore the showroom on the Höfelmeyer website by themselves. Guided online tours together with a Höfelmeyer system consultant are also possible. Even if the digital technical centre is a useful starting point for cooperation, the real Technical Centre in Georgsmarienhütte is of course still open for visits and product tests.
