With the "FR-D800" series, Mitsubishi Electric is launching a new generation of compact frequency inverters for standard applications. The inverter combines space-saving design with intuitive operation and modern interface technology. The aim is to enable easy integration into various industrial environments such as conveyor technology, pumps, or textile machines, paving the way for a smart factory.
Slim frequency inverter with reduced space requirements
The compact frequency inverters are equipped with a hinged cover on the terminal block and an integrated cable guide, which reduces installation effort. The size has been reduced by up to 37 percent compared to the previous series, which makes installation easier and reduces the space required in the control cabinet. The new USB Type-C interface allows parameters to be configured on a PC even without mains voltage. This simplifies commissioning and maintenance.
Energy efficiency through frequency inverter with synchronous motor control
The “FR-D800” frequency inverters feature optimized control for synchronous motors, which reduces energy consumption and thus lowers operating costs. Low standby consumption also contributes to energy-efficient operation. The device series thus supports sustainable production concepts.
Frequency inverter for industrial network integration
The inverters are suitable for applications in food processing, textile machine construction, and conveyor systems. Variants with PCB protection in accordance with IEC 60721-3-3:1994 3C2/3S2 are available for harsh operating conditions. Support for the CC-Link IE TSN, Modbus/TCP, and EtherNet/IP protocols allows the devices to be easily integrated into industrial networks. Compatibility with induction and permanent magnet motors eliminates the need for additional device types.
Diagnostic functions for reliable maintenance
The "FR-D800" inverter series supports predictive maintenance through integrated diagnostics, such as for monitoring the service life of capacitors and fans. Anomaly detection based on current patterns allows potential faults to be detected at an early stage. Maintenance work can be planned efficiently using the "FR Configurator2" software.
Models will be offered for single-phase 100-volt and 200-volt networks as well as three-phase 400-volt networks. The power range extends from 0.1 to 15 kilowatts.
Focus on energy efficiency and practicality
"With the FR-D800 series, we wanted to create an inverter that both new and experienced users can use with confidence," said Shotaro Marumoto, Inverter Development Section Leader at Mitsubishi Electric. "We've made it straightforward while delivering the advanced performance businesses need to improve productivity, save energy, and meet their sustainability goals."
