Slovakian dairy producer Euromilk is investing in another aseptic filling machine from Sig. With the commissioning of a “Slimline 12 Aseptic,” the company is expanding its production capacity and responding to rising demand for drinking milk, flavored milk, cream, and plant-based beverages. The investment comes amid a growing market share in Slovakia. The new system achieves a throughput of up to 12,000 carton packs per hour and processes three package sizes 500, 750, and 1,000 milliliters on the same machine.

Aseptic filling machine shortens changeover times

A key feature of the new system is its high flexibility. Switching between different package sizes takes less than 15 minutes. All that is required is to replace the carton sleeves, adjust the package size, and set the corresponding parameters via the human-machine interface. This flexibility opens up additional opportunities for Euromilk when launching new products. In addition to traditional dairy products, oat milk and specialty barista products will also be filled on the same line in the future.

Sustainability as a driver for investment in a new aseptic filling machine

In addition to production capacity, sustainability also played a key role. The filling machine processes both conventional carton packaging materials and more sustainable packaging solutions such as “SIG Terra Alu-free” and “Sig Terra Forest-based polymers,” which Euromilk already uses. “Our partnership with Sig spans more than 25 years and has helped Euromilk to double production volumes, support continued growth and strengthen its position in the local market,” says Tibor Balogh, Managing Director at Euromilk.

Sig relies on flexible filling concepts

Sig’s filling technology is based on a combination of package liners and ultrasonic sealing. This allows different package sizes, formats, and packaging materials to be processed on a single line with short changeover times. According to the company, in some cases, no changeovers are even required for design changes alone. For food manufacturers, this concept offers the opportunity to serve different product sizes and distribution channels without additional machinery investments.

Aseptic filling machine supports further growth

With the additional line, Euromilk is further expanding its production capacity while simultaneously laying the groundwork for a broader product range. “Sustainability and efficiency must go hand in hand. With the flexibility of the 'SIG Slimline 12' Aseptic filling line, including the ability to fill regular aseptic carton packaging material, alu-layer-free solutions and packaging materials with forest-based polymers on the same machine, Euromilk has exactly what is needed to set the pace in the Eastern European food and beverage market,” adds Sarka Kaplanova, Managing Director & Head of Sales for the Czech Republic and Slovakia at Sig.
