The successful premiere in 2023 lays the foundation for a promising future partnership: “ees Europe”, the trade fair for batteries and energy storage systems in Europe, is now entering its second round in cooperation with the South Korean battery trade fair Inter Battery. With the “Inter Battery Europe Showcase”, visitors to “ees Europe” can once again expect an additional exhibition area next year where they can network with renowned companies from South Korea.

This will be complemented by the “Battery Day Europe” conference. “ees Europe” will take place from June 19 to 21, 2024 as part of “The smarter E Europe”, the largest trade fair association for the energy industry in Europe, and parallel to the trade fairs Intersolar Europe, “Power2Drive Europe” and “EM-Power Europe” at the Munich Exhibition Center. A total of over 2,800 exhibitors, including over 1,000 suppliers of batteries and energy storage systems, and over 115,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend. Around 200 companies are expected in the “Inter Battery Europe Showcase” exhibition area, including well-known industry giants such as Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution and SK On. Last year, 72 companies, 62 of them from South Korea, exhibited in this additional exhibition space. With the “Inter Battery Europe Showcase”, which focuses in particular on innovations in the upstream sector, “ees Europe” presents the entire spectrum of the energy storage industry to its visitors. Targeted networking opportunities will also give them the chance to make valuable business contacts.

Conference preview Battery Day Europe 2024

The “Inter Battery Europe Showcase” will be complemented by the “Battery Day Europe” conference on the first and second day of the trade fair. The upcoming conference will provide a comprehensive insight into the world of electric vehicle batteries in 2024 and cover topics ranging from current regulations and material safety to pioneering technologies and business trends. Special attention will be paid to the German-Korean cooperation in the “ReLioS” network for new approaches in recycling of batteries. The conference will also take a look at production technologies for EV batteries.

Strengthening relations between Europe and South Korea

Behind the comprehensive offer is a cooperation between the organizers of “The smarter E Europe” Solar Promotion and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe with the Korea Battery Industry Association, South Korea's largest exhibition and congress center Coex and the state-run Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. “The presence at ees Europe in Munich is important to us. This collaboration between Europe’s leading battery exhibition and the largest battery exhibition in Korea allows our clients, key players of the Asian battery upstream market, to experience the German and European markets firsthand,” says Dong Ki Lee, President & CEO at Coex. “We hope that this collaboration will widely promote the global competitiveness of K-Batteries and create a significant opportunity to strengthen international cooperation,” adds Tae Sung Park, Vice Chairman of KBIA.

Markus Elsässer, founder and Managing Director of Solar Promotion, explains: “We are delighted to continue our cooperation. 2023 proved how much value South Korean battery industry suppliers and trade visitors can add to the market. The next event will provide them with another opportunity to network and make valuable business contacts.”
