Krones recorded positive development in the first half of 2025 despite challenging economic conditions. The company benefited from robust investment spending by its customers, as the markets served by Krones are less affected by economic fluctuations.

Order intake stable, Krones sales up

At €1,294.5 million, order intake in the second quarter of 2025 was slightly below the previous year's figure but remained stable. For the first half of the year as a whole, the order volume amounted to €2,730.4 million. This is a decline of only 2.2 percent compared to the very strong prior-year level. The order backlog as of June 30, 2025, totaled €4,293.4 million, which is on a par with the level at the end of 2024. The continuing high order backlog secures capacity utilization in the plant and project business through the middle of the 2026 financial year.

Krones subsidiary Netstal Maschinen with positive impact on sales

At the same time, sales growth continued. In the first six months of 2025, sales rose by 6.7 percent to €2,726.5 million. Part of the increase in revenue is attributable to Netstal Maschinen, which was acquired in March 2024. The subsidiary, which manufactures injection molding machines for the beverage market for PET preforms and closures, has had a positive impact on Krones' sales since then. Although the pace of growth slowed in the second quarter due to calendar effects, it remained in line with expectations. Overall, the figures show that Krones is demonstrating its economic resilience despite a challenging market environment.

Earnings power significantly improved

Krones achieved EBITDA of €288.5 million in the first half of 2025. This is an increase of 12.6 percent compared to the previous year. Earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted to €205.5 million, 10.7 percent higher than in the same period last year. Consolidated net income rose to €145.8 million, an increase of eight percent.

Krones' outlook for the year as a whole remains positive

Despite ongoing global uncertainties such as geopolitical tensions, trade conflicts and supply chain problems, Krones is confirming its financial targets for the full year 2025. The Management Board expects sales growth of seven to nine percent. This is based on a high order backlog, a disciplined pricing strategy, and continuous efficiency improvements and cost optimizations. With these figures, Krones is underlining its position as a stable supplier in the plant and project business and sees itself on track to achieve its ambitious annual targets for 2025 despite volatile conditions.
